The Legacies of Women of African Descent
During my senior year of high school, I challenged myself to center the stories of Black Women throughout Black History Month and Women’s History Month. I wanted to expand this idea and create a project that centers unrecognized leadership. I sat with this idea for years waiting until I “got all my ducks in a row” to execute it. Unfortunately, my ducks aren’t in a row, I barely have one duck. One duck that just broke through its shell, however this work can no longer be delayed. I say this as I type from a 10 year old laptop that is ready to give up the ghost.
This is a faith project starting in the form of a blog. I have faith that this will grow into the completed project that I originally dreamed of during my senior year.
Everyday throughout February and March, I will use this space to briefly highlight the legacies of Black Women.
My goal is to inspire new conversations centering veiled legacies of Black Women in Radical Leadership.
